I invite the attention of my readers to the subject of sickness. The subject is one which we ought frequently to look in the face. We cannot avoid it. It needs no prophet’s eye to see sickness coming to each of us in turn one day. "In the midst of life we are in death." Let us turn aside for a few moments, and consider sickness as Christians. The consideration will not hasten its coming, and by God’s blessing may teach us wisdom. More

 

 

I write this as one who has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (a terminal, non-curable disease by worldly standards). It is said that ten out of ten people will die therefore, we are all terminal. Some of us know it and some don’t. I believe in God’s power to heal—by miracle and by medicine. I believe it is right and good to pray for both kinds of healing. My disease is not wasted when God gets all of the glory and that is why disease exists. So not to pray for healing or for the strength to endure may waste my disease. But healing is not God’s plan for everyone. There are many other ways to waste your disease. I am praying that I will not waste this plan for my life. More
